If ever you're in New York City and craving for that famous New York Cheesecake, make sure to drop by Eileen's Special Cheesecake located in SoHo.
I had the opportunity to visit them the last time I was in New York City. I parted with my travel buddies and went on a walking food trip around NYC. Eileen's Special Cheesecake was my second stop. Check out my first restaurant on my NYC food trip.
Eileen's Special Cheesecake turns 46 years old this year. It started as a home-based business that grew into a very successful bakery in downtown Manhattan. Today, the cheesecakes are still hand-made with love down to the graham cracker crusts that are hand-pressed. And all cheesecakes are made fresh daily.
Eileen's Special Cheesecake is said to use only quality ingredients and has different flavors you can choose from on their menu!
Their cheesecake sizes vary from Mini, 6", and 10". I was still full because of the Fluffiest Pancake in NYC so I decided to just order the Classic Plain Mini.
The moment I sank my teeth in the cheesecake, I knew without a doubt that THIS IS A REALLY DELICIOUS CHEESECAKE. It is light but at the same time has a creamy texture. It's not overly sweet nor tangy. The crust was neither soggy nor crispy. It's just at the right texture that compliments well with the cheesecake batter.

One of the best things about traveling alone is that it's so easy to score an empty chair. Eileen's has a limited seating space that's why a lot of people either do a takeaway or just eat on the benches outside the store. I was able to get a chair after I order and right in front of me were numerous plaques and awards for Eileen's Cheesecake.
Eileen is included in the list of the Best Cheesecakes in America, 2019 by Food & Wine, has a Certificate of Excellence by Tripadvisor, and even named as NYC & America's #1 Cheesecake.

You definitely cannot talk about New York Style Cheesecake without mentioning Eileens.
