When I and my group of friends did our South East Asia travel last year, Bangkok was our last stop, and to pick an accommodation from hundreds of hotels, inns, and hostels in Bangkok is purely a headache. But we manage to get a room in a hostel that is located smack dab right in the heart of Bangkok.
The name is Good Day hostel and the address is: 1/13 Petchaburi Soi 15, Petchaburi Road, Ratchathewi, Bangkok 10400. It is a hostel and we got the 8-person bedroom.
We chose Good Day Hostel because we would have no problem reaching shopping malls, supermarkets, and famous markets from our place. Big C Supermarket, Siam Paragon, Central World, tech-world Pantip mall, and the famous shopping mall mecca, the Platinum Fashion Mall. And let's not forget the old and still-famous Pratunam Market. Each one of these is walking distance from Good Day Hostel. Train Stations are also a stone's throw away so we don't have any problem going to other parts of Bangkok.
The hostel has a cafe on the ground level name Canary Cafe. Here, they sell coffee and tea, smoothies, sandwiches, and that famous Instagrammable smoothie bowl. I ordered it one morning and it was DELICIOUS! The cafe is a great place to get your breakfast before you head out in the morning to tour Bangkok!
We arrived a little bit early and the hostel allowed an early check-in for us. Our room was impeccably clean, the linens were fresh from the laundry, and fresh towels were provided! The air-conditioning in the room also works perfectly.
With huge suitcases, we have no problem fitting us in the room since they have cabinets provided for each person. By the way, there is no elevator. Our room is in the fourth floor so we carried our huge and heavy suitcases from ground to Level 4. But that's no reason for a complaint, it was good exercise.
The bathrooms, which are common (a usual in hostels), were surprisingly clean. I remember being giddy every time I stepped into the shower because the water pressure feels so good in my skin. The heater also works fine. There was also a hairdryer in the bathroom.
Food is not allowed in the rooms, understandably because of ants and insects that can infest the rooms so there is a lounge on the second floor where the kitchen (fully equipped kitchen at that) is and where we can eat. You can also watch TV or Netflix, play board games, or read books.
Now, the million-dollar question. Is there a Wifi? And if yes, does it has a strong and stable connection? YES and YES!!! Wifi on the whole building and wherever you are in the hostel, the WIFI connection is strong and stable.
